I toyed with a load of different things to add to this picture to express our admiration and respect for this man. This comic would not exist if it weren't for the gift he gave to us, for a lifetime spent immersed in his stories and the stories that he inspired others to write. In the end, all of the words felt miserably trite and fell too far short of the mark.

Thank you, Stan Lee.

Excelsior!

Same here. I think many of us wouldn't be creating if it wasn't for his inspiration, as well as the art of Kirby and Ditko.

I didn't know he died until I saw this. Wow. I've been reading The Fantastic Four from the first issue forward for a few days now.

Awesome, you guys! I'm not a graphic artist or maker of comics, but Stan Lee touched many lives. I have nothing to add.

Kudos

There is a list I have in my head of a number of people that I would like to hug. This list started when I was very young. Every so often the list changes. (Bill cosby is OFF the list, for example. that hurt.) and, every so often my heart is broken because I will never be able to meet that person anymore, let alone hug them.

today is one of the more devastating losses to my list.

Excelsior, Stan. You still fill us with wonder and inspire us to be greater. and always will.

If either Terry Gilliam or John Cleese is on that list, they both have been touring in the states for a while. Unfortunately the only way to hug them is to Pony up a couple hundred bucks. That being said I ponied up a couple hundred bucks and I have a picture of myself with John Cleese putting his fingers in my ear. I'm not sure why he likes to do that but he does it in a lot of pictures. Also that man is freaking tall!

I can't write stories or draw a straight line to save my life but I do enjoy reading everything that talented people can do and if it weren't for Mr Lee et al in the Marvel universe I'd probably be ignoring webcomics today. I remember when Spiderman and the rest first appeared and I get the same little twinge of wonder and exciement when I see a new strip go up here, or on several other websites I really enjoy. I was young then but I feel that same youth when a good story infolds and I can immerse myself into it wityhout reservation, a rare thing in this day and age. Thank you Stan and thank you Rose and Cent, I never could get the hang of Wednesdays but this good stories like this, no matter what the inspiration, makes it a little easier.

I choose to celebrate a full and long life with gratitude for how it enriched my life and so many others. And since he may be a 'Watcher', I'll still keep an eye out for him in the background at future potentially historic moments.

If I lived two lifetimes, I wouldn't be as cool as Stan Lee!

I think the best way to sum up our feelings here would be this.

If you seek his monument, just look around you.

Rest in peace Stan Lee.
