Cell Phones, Cruses, Sex Dolls we got it all!
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 1:53 AM edit delete reply

they really do. "D
Sheela 10th Jan 2019, 12:46 AM edit delete reply

They even have pretentious prices .. so high that they won't even mention them!! ?
megados 9th Jan 2019, 12:21 AM edit delete reply

Re: alt text, I wouldn't doubt it, but if not, maybe their current counterparts, Drew Carey (of whom I'm not much of a fan) and Wayne Brady, (of whom I'm more of one). The shows are long enough running that I could envision some surviving information, and possibly fandom. For all I know, they could still be on!

Seeing the third panel in context, I have to laugh at the guesses we made when it was shown as a WIP.

So if the robot can't be Bob or Monty, he just provides background legal copy? :D
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 1:54 AM edit delete reply

remember Cent has data bases that go all the way back to the 20th century.
megados 9th Jan 2019, 12:56 PM edit delete reply

I underestimated the database's scope! Think of all the LMAD reruns! :D
Sheela 10th Jan 2019, 12:47 AM edit delete reply

Eh, that database isn't that incredible, it's mostly filled with cat videos.
velvetsanity 10th Jan 2019, 10:52 AM edit delete reply

Cat videos are the most important part of the Internet!
megados 10th Jan 2019, 12:09 PM edit delete reply

Damn straight! Cent uses those to model battle simulations in the various theaters!

The Horror!
Haegan2005 9th Jan 2019, 12:29 AM edit delete reply

okay, this page had me giggling.

Ahem. good thing no one heard that.
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 12:14 PM edit delete reply

hehe :D
DLKmusic 9th Jan 2019, 1:20 AM edit delete reply

No Steve Harvey, huh? harrrumph!
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 12:14 PM edit delete reply

proably - we just didnt think of it! :D

3 out of 4 of the primary areas are in Canada and you missed this one ? I'll spare the audience the gory details and just post the theme... It should get your mojo working ;)

I we fine print mumbles on ads are still a thing even in the future. Also does centcom celebrate like birth/activation days?
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 12:15 PM edit delete reply

she avoids those. :D

I don't see why they wouldn't be.

Although I have a certain curiosity about stories told of people who didn't read the instructions on the LunaBot. I know it has to do with the occasionally crazy stuff we saw on the ambulance or heard from talking to ER Nurses. I can only guess what the manufacturer's customer support line is like on that, and that the call would have to be placed through lunacom.

"The patient has WHAT stuck up their ass?!"
Sheela 12th Jan 2019, 5:51 AM edit delete reply

The LunaBot has it's head stuck up WHERE ?
Oldarmourer 12th Jan 2019, 9:36 PM edit delete reply
I still think the easiest way to sort this planet out is to just remove all the warning labels and let natural selection takeover again
oldastronomer 9th Jan 2019, 4:54 AM edit delete reply
And if you have to ask for the price, you really, really can't afford it. MUCH more expensive than Harrod's (London). Mind you, they had a good stock of Prestige copper bottomed saucepans 40 years ago when I needed one - too long a story...
Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 12:15 PM edit delete reply

ill bet there is a story there :D
oldastronomer 9th Jan 2019, 3:56 PM edit delete reply
It involves a failed chicken soup recipe, distractions, and a really burnt out saucepan that defied a power driven metal brush. I was in the dog house for a while...
Just_IDD 9th Jan 2019, 11:54 AM edit delete reply
Noctis never learned that 'F.I.N.E.' is really an acronym. I would expect the new Rome AI to get this reference,

Centcomm 9th Jan 2019, 12:15 PM edit delete reply

heh ! :D
someone 9th Jan 2019, 1:35 PM edit delete reply
Loving this guy already. Voicing over the legalese in the gaps in the girl's speech? has me laughing in tears. For some reason Bob Barker as a robot does seem a little creepy too lol.

so you can f*ck off, get f*cked and chat about f*ckall at the same time

the miracles of futuristic technology....
knuut 10th Jan 2019, 9:47 PM edit delete reply
Futureistic? I was getting spam trying to sell me that five years ago. By now there's probably an AP for that.
Ofgud01 9th Jan 2019, 4:04 PM edit delete reply
X-Stasy? Find the executive(s)that came up with the name and shoot them.
Kiddeagle 9th Jan 2019, 6:33 PM edit delete reply
X-Stasy? It should be X-Stacy
Sheela 10th Jan 2019, 12:41 AM edit delete reply

Ah, but doesn't that raise the question of this?! ?
robnot 10th Jan 2019, 12:15 PM edit delete reply
since im more furry minded.. i'll go with ' Fred Perry's ' parody ,, Misty's mom...
Sheela 12th Jan 2019, 5:45 AM edit delete reply

Had to google that one .. you're thinking of this, right ?
robnot 12th Jan 2019, 9:43 AM edit delete reply
durr,, yeah Misi...
Thracecius 9th Jan 2019, 7:20 PM edit delete reply

Have we met this "buddy" of hers before? I have to wonder if the reason 'Bot Buddy has such a wild sense of humor is because he's been around for awhile...and we know who that might be...from Luna. ;)
mjkj 9th Jan 2019, 7:23 PM edit delete reply

Wow, just coming for a comm unit - leaving with a vacation... =P
Centcomm 10th Jan 2019, 4:17 PM edit delete reply

Hey thats big money!
Sheela 12th Jan 2019, 5:47 AM edit delete reply

Considering the prices for the latest smartphones, this does not seem entirely unreasonable. ?
KarToon12 9th Jan 2019, 8:36 PM edit delete reply

Now I'm really curious to hear the Bob Barker voice. XD

Props to her to keep up a cheerful attitude after saying that entire speech for, what I'm assuming, is the hundredth time.
Johninaustin 10th Jan 2019, 2:46 PM edit delete reply
I really like the bot guy and the alt text is hilarious. As for "didn't read the instructions' stories, ask a guy that works offshore oil rigs. (Not recommended for the squeamish)
HiFranc 12th Jan 2019, 12:33 PM edit delete reply

Surgically implanted communication devices with direct connection to brain. Sounds dangerous!

No nothing could go wrong there!
megados 12th Jan 2019, 3:00 PM edit delete reply

It'll be fi-i-i-ine! XD

I have to wonder what kind of hacking/cracking exploits could be opened up >_>
HiFranc 13th Jan 2019, 6:49 PM edit delete reply

No reason to worry that a waiver needs to be signed.
SeanR 13th Jan 2019, 4:20 PM edit delete reply
I've read two other webcomics where the shadow of a person not being in true charge, due to an outside imfluence, was raised. In one, to comedic effect, and dropped very quickly, (the interviewee turned the tables on the dummy, and pressed him for critical intel.) In the other, just the risk of it caused such a problem that one of the heroes removed himself from the location, after throwing a tantrum and breaking things over having supposedly made his lover do something that was abhorrent to her, (lie, but he was in error on that one.)

I can only think that the mere suspicion that a communications implant, in Acantha's head, might be used to use her as a mouthpiece for something else, likely a foreigner, AI, or worse, both, would have very devastating consequences to the stability of New Rome.
HiFranc 13th Jan 2019, 6:48 PM edit delete reply

I can think of a third one - a finished comic on this site. Something from the virtual world starts driving a woman mad in real life.
Sheela 16th Jan 2019, 10:41 PM edit delete reply

Mind Control .. a tried and true stable of villainy ! :)
Gilrandir 14th Jan 2019, 1:08 PM edit delete reply
Imperatrices of Nova Roma do not have communications implants. They have people to have communications implants for them. (Usually Cassians.) And, if there are to be any non-emergency implantings to be done, Archpriest Setorius will be the one doing it.

(All of the above, of course, are strictly my opinion. Consult the creatrices in your area for your specific webcomic. Your mileage may vary.)
megados 14th Jan 2019, 4:54 PM edit delete reply

Sadly, I have none of the appropriate creatrices in my immediate area. Because of that, I would have to add many miles to my mileage. :(
Sheela 16th Jan 2019, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

… soooo … your mileage may vary ? ?
megados 17th Jan 2019, 9:35 AM edit delete reply

It increases, A LOT! ?
oldastronomer 15th Jan 2019, 5:10 AM edit delete reply
I think we can trust Noctis (& Athena) to put a gentle but absolutely firm brake on the wilder notions being floated. Lynn is also fairly sensible at the core, so a polite demur and a direction to a comms store and then a clothing emporium will probably be the next set of frames - and I am well looking forward to them!!
oldastronomer 15th Jan 2019, 5:13 AM edit delete reply
I am also a bit surprised, if this is Lynn's home shopping area, that Miranda didn't recognise Lynn. Of course if Lynn is doing a splash out to a more upmarket area than usual, that explains it.
I wonder if they still have flea markets, stalls, etc in New Troy. I suspect they still do in Nova Roma.
Boren 15th Jan 2019, 7:46 AM edit delete reply

disclaimer bot is funny
Also I'm somewhat reminded of some flavor text I read once "Oh no sir, nothing is impossible. What you want is merely.. expensive"
Thracecius 15th Jan 2019, 2:25 PM edit delete reply

Ask and ye shall recieve, Centcomm. Funds are on the way; hope it helps. :)
Centcomm 15th Jan 2019, 3:53 PM edit delete reply

that it did! that it did thank you ,, seriously!
Thracecius 16th Jan 2019, 8:36 PM edit delete reply
