The knot unravels with surprisingly little pull...
That's a good thing!*

*(After all, it's the serving class's job to function in-spite of the aristocrats!)

[heh, indeed!]
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 12:25 AM edit delete reply

yep Arianna is pretty good at getting things done on th sly
Draginbeard 23rd Nov 2012, 12:22 AM edit delete reply

Stand off averted. Cool, no shootout...not sure the palace could survive a death toll higher than a cartel drug deal gone bad.

I forgot everyone there was under the same orders by the same chain of command. =P
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 12:26 AM edit delete reply

yup , the centurion skipped his commander and HIS commander , but under the situation. ( wishing not to get horribly muderered by the cassian ) he just jumped all the way up.
Chris D 28th Sep 2015, 6:02 PM edit delete reply
Jumping the chain of command is fine when it's warranted. His superior would have to tell his superior, then that superior would contact the general which would waste everyone's time. Only when the next highest supervisor can fix the situation is it a big no no to go all the way to the top.
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 12:32 AM edit delete reply

I expect there will be plenty of potential for a shoot out a bit later...
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 12:39 AM edit delete reply

you would be correct :D!
plymayer 23rd Nov 2012, 12:42 AM edit delete reply

Hey, they're all being nice. That means cookies later.
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 12:50 AM edit delete reply

yup amazing isnt it ...
Rashala 23rd Nov 2012, 1:35 AM edit delete reply

Why do I get the feeling that a compliment from that uh...Creepy one is NOT nessicarily a good thing for this poor guy
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 1:52 AM edit delete reply

She might well want to transfer him to her headquarters for further education and discipline training...
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 2:30 AM edit delete reply

wooo HOO! that could be good.. or BAD...
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 2:30 AM edit delete reply

because she looks like shes sizeing him up for a coffin ? ( actually the palace IS there HQ )
Rashala 23rd Nov 2012, 3:12 AM edit delete reply

No offense but she looks more like she is sizing up a potential well PET/guard dog she is considerign purchasing to train to maul people on command

PS. When does teh incentive get updated?
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 10:23 AM edit delete reply

I was going to work on that today .. its been a BUSY week well 2 actually ..
Sleel 23rd Nov 2012, 8:43 PM edit delete reply

I dunno. I kinda like her. Eyes dun creep me out at all. Course, her career is a bit dodgy, but it is Nova Roma after all. Maybe it's the hair and tats, always a sucker for some nice tats. Nice ones, not "everyone's doing it" ones. (looking at you Broken Hearts, Keyhole Hearts, Barb Wire, friggin Tweety.... and the like) x]
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 9:18 PM edit delete reply

heheh - IM glad that she turned out so nicely ..
dpat57 23rd Nov 2012, 2:50 AM edit delete reply

Yes that's nice! Luckily no one's the trigger-happy type.
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 10:26 AM edit delete reply

hehe the pretorians are basicly Marine's while the Centurion is basicly a Army grunt. both have excellent self control. weapons in datachasers are very leathal so firefights tend to be very fast brutal affairs much like real life. so people try to aviod them.
Marcus Ramesy 23rd Nov 2012, 10:38 AM edit delete reply

Guns don't kill people...bullets kill people....or supercharged plasma in a force field container...or amplified light ......or...........
Dragonrider 23rd Nov 2012, 7:48 PM edit delete reply

@Marcus, the hell with it People kill People no matter; you're no deader from a Nuclear Explosion that you are from having a jealous husband shoot you after he catches you with his wife.
Marcus Ramesy 25th Nov 2012, 6:08 PM edit delete reply

jax: so thats why he was shooting at me... I didnt know it was his wife.. she said she was his daughter.....
antrik 7th Oct 2016, 6:41 PM edit delete reply
Heh... Not much on top of things, are we? Well, what to expect from a Mil-Sec grunt... :-P
Death2Bravo 23rd Nov 2012, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

It is so nice when people actually perform their duties the way they're supposed to. Wow, one would almost think they were in the army or something.
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 10:27 AM edit delete reply

heheh - isnt it! - well Arianna isnt Military .. but she is in a structured postiion.
LooeyQ 23rd Nov 2012, 12:34 PM edit delete reply

*Phew*
Everything turned out better than expected! :)
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 1:15 PM edit delete reply

yeppers , this could have wound up with several bodies instead >_<
Kuratenshi 23rd Nov 2012, 3:15 PM edit delete reply

I think I see a "Special Assignement" in this guys future. If things go bad, it will be bad. If things go well, it will still be bad. Lol
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 3:25 PM edit delete reply

hehe :D
KarToon12 23rd Nov 2012, 3:30 PM edit delete reply

For some reason, I just thought of the genie from Aladdin going, "That's right! He CAN be taught!" XDXDXD
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 3:42 PM edit delete reply

hmm the Cassian played by a female robin williams.. wow ..
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 3:58 PM edit delete reply

A side note:
Are the Cassian facial tattoos rank and identity codes?
Are they decorative too?
How much individuality do they indulge themselves in?

(Small sample for speculation so far.)
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 4:03 PM edit delete reply

They are mostly decorative the same way humans use em.. they mean nothing. although most cassians tend to have rather similar features and skintones.. so they are helpful there.
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 4:14 PM edit delete reply

Are there significant differences in Nova Roman android protocol and manufacturing technique from the other City States?
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 5:49 PM edit delete reply

All I can say there is "yes" there are major diffrences. more will be reveiled later.
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 6:22 PM edit delete reply

One could imagine the Cassian model androids being more communal in origin and upbringing than their New Trojan counterparts.
dpallee 23rd Nov 2012, 6:03 PM edit delete reply

Oh Cent, you leave us all chomping at the bit!
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 6:34 PM edit delete reply

Hmmmnn...
Have you noticed the vagueness of the answers is inversely proportional to the closeness of the questions to the plotification?
No? I haven't either.
Not at all.
Nope!
->^00^<!-
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 6:46 PM edit delete reply

oke thing I will say thats diffrent is that NR andriods do not go though the "early childhood or developmental stats new troy andriods do . they are put out as finished when activated.
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 6:52 PM edit delete reply

(Oh dear! Be careful of the feral roses...)*

That developmental deficiency could be a serious drawback in situations where push escalates into shove.

*(Or have you deployed you attack pickles already?)
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 7:14 PM edit delete reply

hehe always :D
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 7:57 PM edit delete reply

I'm Incentivized!*

*(I know Maxus is maximum,
But...)
Dragonrider 23rd Nov 2012, 8:00 PM edit delete reply

Heh... well I would say that our Cassian is wandering if the Centurian is worthy of becoming her occasional sparing and bed partner (Yes I have a filthy mind. Now tell me something I don't know.), somewhat like when Will Ryker was transfered to the IKS Pagh Klingon Bird of Prey. One of the Female Klingons decided to try him.
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 8:04 PM edit delete reply

snickers .. yes you have a filthy mind .. but meh.. who doesnt ..
@ Dragonrider also - no I havent forgotten :D
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 8:11 PM edit delete reply

There's no parts like Nova Roman Genuine Android Parts!
Centcomm 23rd Nov 2012, 8:18 PM edit delete reply

hahah - :D good one N.R.G.A.P its the NR GAP! wooot!
cattservant 23rd Nov 2012, 8:21 PM edit delete reply

I'd like to see the box they come in.*

*(He said, perfectly innocently.)
Rashala 24th Nov 2012, 12:28 AM edit delete reply

We still love you centy no matter
Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 12:32 AM edit delete reply

Rashala 24th Nov 2012, 12:50 AM edit delete reply

Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 3:51 AM edit delete reply

YAY!
cattservant 24th Nov 2012, 3:23 PM edit delete reply

It's the crunchy bits,
isn't it?
cattservant 24th Nov 2012, 3:21 PM edit delete reply

Salutations!

'A Thought on a
cold Saturday'

Reluctantly

Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 3:34 PM edit delete reply

wheeee!
cattservant 24th Nov 2012, 4:22 PM edit delete reply

We<tCaI>*, as you can no doubt tell, are having a 'wild' afternoon here on The Mountain!
Tuna and root beer and catnip for all! Pandora** on shuffle mix and turned up to 35!
Yowzah Yowzah Yow!!!

Actually Pandora is quite nice, you can set it up with all your favorites and the AI is always coming up with new (to you) songs that seem to be quite agreeable. And it's free too! Handy if you spend significant amounts of time in the vicinity of computational devices...

*(the Cats and I)
**(the Mythical Pandora is a very interesting concept/character if you are not familiar with her.
"beautiful evil")

And here is something with perhaps a touch of ambiguity for your consideration...

Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 4:58 PM edit delete reply

yep I use Pandora a lot .its a excellent music box. and wooots on all the other stuff!
LazyRanger 24th Nov 2012, 6:28 PM edit delete reply
I've been voting every few hours or so, if it makes you feel better.

Your comic's worth it. ;)
Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 6:43 PM edit delete reply

aww thank you *HUGS!*
CyberSkull 24th Nov 2012, 7:48 PM edit delete reply

He's not only showing initiative, but basic self-preservation!
Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 7:54 PM edit delete reply

there ya go! got it in one!
Rashala 24th Nov 2012, 10:26 PM edit delete reply

an admirable survival trait
Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 10:31 PM edit delete reply

yes... yes he is ! ( goes back to work ) HEE!
Rashala 24th Nov 2012, 11:20 PM edit delete reply

*shrugs* *goes back to contacting kali's agent about that Renesance pose*
Centcomm 24th Nov 2012, 11:23 PM edit delete reply

btw the new incentive is Max and Kali :D
Rashala 25th Nov 2012, 3:42 AM edit delete reply

I know :)

I meant kali in a birth of Aphrodite pose ;)
mushroomisland 26th Nov 2012, 12:08 AM edit delete reply

Great page, as always. Following orders must be fun, of course.
