Reload trauma? After her little *Angel Ada* save during download that would explain quite a bit!
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 9:19 PM edit delete reply

Its a "andriod" only problem .. standard Robots and Synthetic intellegences do not have this problem nither do AI's
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 9:30 PM edit delete reply

Artificial Intelligences s don't have the body.
Robots and Synthetic Intelligences don't have the soul.
Androids are bridges, and always 'have their feet wet'.
Sheela 1st Jul 2013, 11:52 PM edit delete reply

As advanced as the synth brains are, I would imagine they are never 100% the same - There might be minute differences in them that makes them act slightly different, in unknown and subtle ways.
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 12:37 AM edit delete reply

you are quite correct Sheela no two are the same :D
Sheela 2nd Jul 2013, 2:38 AM edit delete reply

Offcourse, even subtle changes can make big changes to the personality that resides in them. Which is evident to anyone who ever visits a head trauma ward in a hospital.
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 9:16 PM edit delete reply

That touch again...
Time to discuss 'things' metaphysical!
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 9:19 PM edit delete reply

You caught that did you ? ^_^
Stormwind13 1st Jul 2013, 10:01 PM edit delete reply

Very well done Cat. :-)

Reload trauma...requiring downtime and counseling. WTF was CentComm thinking?!?
Rashala 1st Jul 2013, 9:34 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm was thinking +I need the best aseets on the field out there ASAP and Their emotional state = Irelevant to the mission
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 9:39 PM edit delete reply

And yet because of that, their performance might be impaired.

[Apparently within acceptable predicted limits.]
highlander55 1st Jul 2013, 9:53 PM edit delete reply

Or another decoy!
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 10:01 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, and they're already stepping on each others toes!
Stormwind13 1st Jul 2013, 10:04 PM edit delete reply

I can't see that, Highlander. I mean, she has to either commit some real resources to the field or not take the field.
This team has (or SHOULD have, if they can hold it together) the resources for a realistic chance of success (I would think). Still I think CentComm might have underestimated some of those resources readiness for a mission this stressful.
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 10:07 PM edit delete reply

cent could have under-estamated Teedee's readyness. she isnt a god. and can make mistakes.
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 10:09 PM edit delete reply

Sure didn't see that 'free' headshot coming!
Marcus Ramesy 1st Jul 2013, 10:51 PM edit delete reply

It wasn't CentComs responsibility, that was mine.. It is my job to know the mental state of my team members, so it would be me that has over estimated TeeDees state of readiness.. I am very much aware that she is having problems.. but because she hasn't/will not talk to me I do not know to what extent it is.. after all Im only human.. and this is a deeply personal issue for TeeDee
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 11:15 PM edit delete reply

You're an Officer and a Gentleman!
highlander55 1st Jul 2013, 10:28 PM edit delete reply

CentComm's only concern is the fact New Rome already has the ability to access the IA with Lynne. They just don't realize it.. Yet! Lynne has the DNA to unlock the Cent Comm.
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 10:53 PM edit delete reply

Don't for get that 'loose' egg at large somewhere in Nova Roma.
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 12:36 AM edit delete reply

thats not been forgotten :D
highlander55 2nd Jul 2013, 8:44 PM edit delete reply

Don't forget Rose sent in Kyle under cover too! (Damn software- This was supposed to be a comment under Stormwind13's comment at 10:04PM)
velvetsanity 1st Jul 2013, 10:44 PM edit delete reply

Impaired? Endanger the mission and all involved, I'd say.
CyberSkull 1st Jul 2013, 10:04 PM edit delete reply

PRLD - Post Reload Disorder:
Similar to the biological PRBTD (Post Rebirth Disorder) going through a new awakening in a new body after an emergency recover presents a variety of issues including dysmorphia, survivor's guilt, rusty gears syndrome, and other issues in the the MPTSD (machine post traumatic stress disorder) family.
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 10:06 PM edit delete reply

hehe - it does also resemble P.T.S as well mostly because it has the same kinds of triggers.. "Death" litterally..
Stormwind13 1st Jul 2013, 10:12 PM edit delete reply

Never thought about it, but it does make sense that they should have some downtime and someone to talk things through (though they may work as each other's counselor as close as they are).
I have a feeling that Teedee was most thrown off by how close she came to losing Ada.
Now, can androids become psychic? :-D That MIGHT explain Teedee's communication with Ada during her reload. :-)
highlander55 1st Jul 2013, 10:32 PM edit delete reply

I think Ada in that context was Teedee's subconscious trying to protect itself in the only way the conscious could handle it. In other words, the will to Live.
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 11:02 PM edit delete reply

very... very.. Apt :D
Centcomm 1st Jul 2013, 11:03 PM edit delete reply

there is a explaintion for it :D
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 11:27 PM edit delete reply

[And someday...]

btw: Is the shadow over TeeDee's heart* poetic foreshadowing, or just the result of your 'lighting'?

*(Panel 2)
Sheela 1st Jul 2013, 11:50 PM edit delete reply

Sounds like Stormwind is on to something there. :)

Sort of a case of mixed emotions where she has lost something essential to her, ie. her machine look ?
cattservant 1st Jul 2013, 11:59 PM edit delete reply

The Authartistor says there is an "explanation", but it could be intellectual 'tuna' to lure us back in the bag...
Sheela 2nd Jul 2013, 12:01 AM edit delete reply

Tuna ?! :D
Where ?!
cattservant 2nd Jul 2013, 12:07 AM edit delete reply

In the bag!* Should be quite roomy soon.

*(The one the Cats are all getting out of over at Luna-Star tonight.)
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 12:38 AM edit delete reply

could... be :D
cattservant 2nd Jul 2013, 12:42 AM edit delete reply

Should be lots of space to smoke some salmon too.
Sheela 2nd Jul 2013, 2:39 AM edit delete reply

*rips bag apart to get to the tuna.*

>_<
velvetsanity 2nd Jul 2013, 8:13 AM edit delete reply

Catt, the shadow is from Ada's left hand, it's the lighting :D

Though it might be deliberate on the artist's part...
CyberSkull 2nd Jul 2013, 4:47 AM edit delete reply

It wouldn't surprise me if there was an android version of psychic phenomena. When you consider that Earther (I'm giving up on saying Human/AI and just going with some form of Earther, Earthian, Earthican or whatever else strikes my fancy and gets my point across.) science knows about psychic phenomena is probably quite limited to "we know some aliens do it, so it's real" and "some humans may be able to do it" then it wouldn't surprise me that an equally complex system like an android wouldn't have it's own version (unless they are all branches of the same phenomenon, which would surprise me) of psychic activity.
mjkj 2nd Jul 2013, 4:36 AM edit delete reply

I knew it she would not do that :)

Oh, wow, reload trauma -- sounds quite serious...

...poor Teedee and Ada

*gives them a big load of downtime*

We have progress. :)
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 10:00 AM edit delete reply

68 now :D
KarToon12 2nd Jul 2013, 8:54 AM edit delete reply

Too much change in too short a time can do that to anyone.
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 10:00 AM edit delete reply

you are so right :D
Draginbeard 2nd Jul 2013, 9:41 AM edit delete reply

How common is this for the Angel models? Outside of Roy Batty (the Nexus 6 Replicant big bad in Bladerunner) I had not considered an AI design mimicking human flaws to this degree.

Is there anything like a short term memory dump that can be used to address 'Logic Trauma'?

I know that sounds harsh, but it doesn't have to be a permanent loss, it can be reinstalled in manageable portions so the AI can process things in a controlled fashion.

It just makes me wonder what the fall out would be if a completely unstable asset went bibiddy while on mission.
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 10:00 AM edit delete reply

Teedee isnt a angel model shes actually a fairly standard build angels have there own quirks .. and Ceci far far more. Cella is more a example of a "typical" Angel ( white ) the only time memory can be "edited" is when a transfer is happening trying to do so on a active memory is dangerous its like trying to fix a running hard drive. and reload trama happens in a small percentage of andriods who lost three bodys violently it does not happen in willing upgrades and transfers.
Sheela 2nd Jul 2013, 10:05 AM edit delete reply

Well, I guess it *could* happen in a willing transfer if the body is different enough, but since the mind that transfers over is prepared for it, it would be better able to cope with the disrepancy.

And coping, is probably the key issue here, so many new inputs and stuff that TeeDee have to sort trough, she just doesn't have the algorithms for it. i guess that's what Ada can help her with by talking to her, help her establish a baseline from Ada's own experience with her own incremental upgrades. Give TeeDee something to work with, so she can sort herself out.
Highlander55 2nd Jul 2013, 1:26 PM edit delete reply
And Teedee has the real looking skin. Makes her look like a pleasure doll when you think about it. No wonder she is pissed. With the plastic covering she felt safe nobody wold hit on her.
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 2:03 PM edit delete reply

her old body was Dura-plast ( a type of armored metallic polymer ) a much more ridgid and glossy material it had no realistic tones or materials.
Stormwind13 2nd Jul 2013, 5:40 PM edit delete reply

We seem to have crashed TWC. I can't get to it right now and no feed to tell me where Datachasers or Luna Star are ranked right now.
mjkj 2nd Jul 2013, 6:16 PM edit delete reply

TWC just started to work again: Datachasers rank 70 and Luna Star rank 85...
Centcomm 2nd Jul 2013, 6:40 PM edit delete reply

66 now :D giggles -
Stormwind13 2nd Jul 2013, 7:39 PM edit delete reply

I see it at 63!!! Come on readers, VOTE her to the top! :-D
