Somehow I KNEW the barkeep would say something like that. You can't have different people mixing and NOT have interesting little discussions from time to time. :-D
Don B. 25th Aug 2013, 10:35 PM edit delete reply
This is true, but you would need a very exceptional bouncer to get this situation under control. Someone like that nice (but kinda scary) lady who works for Breaker, perhaps?
Sheela 25th Aug 2013, 11:26 PM edit delete reply

Not even TeeDee is crazy enough to fight The Bouncers :

...Is that Cyber-Paul-Revere on a Tron cycle in panel three?
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 9:50 PM edit delete reply

Can't tell, May.

What is the picture (is it a picture?) in Panel 1? I mean, it kind of looks like the costume Galina was wearing on the cover of chapter 1. :-) I'm confused though, why it would be cut off that way, if it is a picture.
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 10:04 PM edit delete reply

in panel three yes :D you called it on the money :)

at stormwind ( whitch pic? )
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 10:40 PM edit delete reply

To the left of Connie, on the back (white) wall. Is that a picture or something else? Whatever it is, the person in there (reminds me) is wearing something like Galina did on the Chapter 1 cover.
highlander55 25th Aug 2013, 10:41 PM edit delete reply

Were the girl is squatting in the panel 1 video screen behind Connie.
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 10:47 AM edit delete reply

ah thats a digitial paintng actually. :D unknown artist from renderosity.
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 9:46 PM edit delete reply

Panel 4 reminds me of WAY too many Westerns. :-D

Marcus' comment, "Nut up", did NOT strike me as being the best one he could have made to TeeDee, in my opinion. :-)

And TeeDee tells her superior officer to take his job and shove it. NOT considered a good thing, from what I know of the military. Can't argue with TeeDee though, she DOES have a reason to gripe, just NOT the way to do it in the military (unless you want to wind up in the stockade).
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 10:08 PM edit delete reply

he actually has a plan... ( we hope its a good one )
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 10:43 PM edit delete reply

No plan survives contact with the enemy. :-) See how Marcus' plan holds together.
Stormwind13 26th Aug 2013, 4:42 PM edit delete reply

I think I may have an idea what Marcus is up to.

TeeDee is hanging onto her sanity by her finger nails, if her recent actions are any indications. Which leaves Marcus in a bit of a bind. TeeDee shouldn't be here, but he doesn't have time to start over plus any attempt to do so would likely destroy TeeDee utterly. She would have PROOF that she couldn't cut it, at least in other's eyes. So he has to figure out a means of dragging her back from the brink, restoring her self-worth and surviving the punishment that is going to take.

As I see it, if Marcus defeats her, he could very well destroy the last thread of that sanity, sending her plunging into madness. She already is depressed and thinking that she isn't as capable in a fight because of the body she has been forced into. If he can beat her, she could see it as proof of that which would likely drop kick her self-worth so far as to destroy her. On the other hand, if he goes too easy on her though, TeeDee would likely see it as confirmation that she ISN'T up the level of fight that she demands of herself. And that would be just as damaging, I think, to TeeDee's fragile self-worth. Casting her over the edge into utter madness, probably some kind of catatonia, divorcing herself utterly from contact with the world.

So he has to dance on the razor's edge. He has to fight TeeDee HARD... and lose. Furthermore, he has to arrange it so that he survives the beating. If she can't (won't) climb back up from the edge of insanity at the end, she could end his life and I'm sure he is all TO aware of this fact. He needs to goad her, make her fight him... for herself, for her self-worth and claw her way back over the edge to the snarky, but (semi-) controlled entity she was. :-D

It is risky, probably even insanely risky, but a good commander tries even insane things in the pursuit of restoration of their troops. If my speculation is correct, Marcus has decided this is his best shot at keeping the mission on track. I sure hope Marcus is up to the task. And Ada is up to the task of putting him back in fighting shape fairly quickly afterward. :-D
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 7:26 PM edit delete reply

I think you are a VERY observent person :D
Don B. 25th Aug 2013, 10:28 PM edit delete reply
TeeGee wanted to be a soldier from the beginning but was assigned to S&R instead. I get what her problem is due to circumstances beyond her control and look how she's handling it. I don't think she has the stability a soldier needs. What they go through in combat and in a combat environment can be much, much worse than anything she's seen. Honestly, I believe that she would have been declared Section 8 and reformatted if this is how she copes. Getting homicidal toward civilians (no matter how annoying) and anyone else in her way is NOT the military way. Actually, her behavior before even embarking on the mission should have raised some red flags but everyone was too focused on the crisis to see it.
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

Good point, Don. And very likely you are right, though I'm not sure soldiers get stuck in bodies they didn't order. And dying is obviously a B!TCH (and TeeDee is doing that <b!tching>) in response. :-)
Don B. 25th Aug 2013, 10:58 PM edit delete reply
Stormwind13; I'm not sure about the body thing (though it's probably come up before in some way), but the dying thing is something I'm sure those old soldier androids she hangs out with are very familiar with. Also aside from the body thing, Ada seems to be coping quite well from dying and HER pain receptors were online while she was burning...if I remember rightly.
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 11:05 PM edit delete reply

Actually, that was TeeDee that got torched. Ada flat-lined and lost all track of EVERYTHING. And Ada just about didn't make it because of the complications THAT caused. She is coping now, because Doctor Silver pretty much cut the entire episode from Ada's memory.
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

Ada remembers nothing past the doctor ejecting. Silver clipped all the rest.

TD remembers everything.
Don B. 26th Aug 2013, 12:07 AM edit delete reply
Oops...I should really should go back and check things like that even if my track record isn't too bad when going by memory. I'm glad you guys don't go out of your way to make someone feel like a total tool for being wrong.
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 12:59 AM edit delete reply

aww its ok - Everyone is allowed mistakes hell I have to go back and check facts on occasion.
highlander55 25th Aug 2013, 10:43 PM edit delete reply

Could be CentComms way of getting rid of Teedee as she has been a bitchy- whiny pain in the ass all her life.
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 10:45 PM edit delete reply

Doesn't seem like a reaction I would expect from CentComm, she just wouldn't have LOADED her if she didn't want you around. I mean, I'm sure CentComm could have arranged that if she didn't want TeeDee around.
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:42 PM edit delete reply

Cent comm has no wish to "get rid of" Teedee she would not have allowed the reload if she wanted her gone. her abliity actually does outweight her drawbacks.
Sheela 25th Aug 2013, 11:47 PM edit delete reply

Just need to stabilize her a bit.

.... percussion therapy. :D
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 12:14 PM edit delete reply

There is a reason they kept turning her down. her temper is the main reason. however its not so much of a draw back in S&R. :D
Tokyo Rose 28th Aug 2013, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

Teedee would have been the happiest little war-droid in the world if she'd been accepted into the military, and is not Section 8 material under normal circumstances. These circumstances are far from normal.

Keep in mind that androids who undergo a reload - especially after the severe physical and psychological trauma that Teedee suffered - normally have a "downtime" period in a hospital, during which they receive counseling and assistance to adjust to a new body. Teedee was reloaded (into a body that is the antithesis of what she wanted, no less) and immediately shoved out on this mission.

How well do you think a human soldier would cope if they lost a limb, woke up with a new prosthesis, and were immediately pushed out the door and told to get the fuck back to work? Zero counseling, zero physical therapy?

Dr. Silver did get a start on counseling her, but there are physical aspects of Teedee's recovery that Marcus is going to be addressing in his own unique way. :)
Draginbeard 26th Aug 2013, 5:16 AM edit delete reply

Well at least this didnt erupt during happy hour. Shouldn't take long to clear out the customers.

I'm not sure if Marcus is trying to reason with or taunt TeeDee into a full on rage...
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 12:15 PM edit delete reply

most likely the latter :P

and yes its a VERY good thing the bar wasnt crowded - that could have been.. messy.
Stormwind13 26th Aug 2013, 4:50 PM edit delete reply

Like turning the blender on HIGH and forgetting to put the lid on it, messy. :-O

Re: TeeDee control ala the two Texas Gulf Coast mosquitos who captured a cow:
(1st - Shall we eat her here or take her back to the nest . .
2nd - Nah, here - otherwise the big ones will take her away from us.)

(Holy-Sqiz! What is with her? It is taking the both of us just to hold her down . . . better call for the others . . . ".

The thought goiung through that barkeepers mind

*oh this is gonna be bad...but Eh we could do with some remodeling anyway and I ain't gonna have to pay for it...win win

yep win win :D
Tokamada 26th Aug 2013, 5:40 PM edit delete reply
This is actually really interesting. Its cyberpsychosis for androids. The more organic parts the more psychotic...at least in TeeDee's case. Interesting take on it.
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 7:29 PM edit delete reply

actually yes - "reload- trama" is kinda diffrent but its just as dangerous / crippling. and can result from everything including depression , suicide to total psychosis.
Tokyo Rose 28th Aug 2013, 6:00 PM edit delete reply

That's actually an interesting take - the mirror of "Cybernetics Eat Your Soul" - but not quite accurate. This is more a case of an individual (Teedee) who really hates sloppy organic bits being compelled to deal with having sloppy organic bits. And then a load of other problems. :D
mjkj 26th Aug 2013, 6:51 PM edit delete reply

Wow, Marcus is dead on. And TeeDee is quite reasonable with her reasoning...

I hope they will stay reasonable...

And Marcus is right in trying to reduce the damage and get the civilians out...
Centcomm 26th Aug 2013, 7:30 PM edit delete reply

staying "reasonable" is a really good thing.
Antonious 26th Aug 2013, 8:32 PM edit delete reply

TeeDee is going Chernobyl. Doc's card is going to get VERY warm being passed through the reader that much.
JustNoPoint 29th Aug 2013, 10:16 AM edit delete reply

Whoa. I see the reflection of the other group in the mirror watching. That's detail!
